Upgrading Multisite Install

I am running Drupal and Civi 3.1.2 Multisite install.

I just upgraded to Civi 3.1.4 I followed instructions for main site but for sub sites I am just installing the latest Civi and not doing the DB upgrade is that correct?

It seems to work.
