How to Search on Activities + Participant Custom Fields (not used in a profile)
May 13, 2010, 04:56:41 pm
I'm trying to query a custom event field which I am manually updating on the event transaction, however, this field is not available in the advanced search as I am not using it in a profile.  I can query it using Search Builder but I also want to be able to query whether or not they have an activity and this is only available in the advanced search.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get these 2 fields in the same query.  Also, why can't I query the activities table in the Search Builder?  Or why are custom fields that are not used in Profiles not available in the Advanced Search?

Thanks,
Annalee

Custom fields for PARTICIPANT are available in Advanced Search as long as you mark them "Searchable" in the field configuration (edit the custom field from Administer >> Customize >> Custom Data). Their use in a Profile is not relevant to this.

Thanks, Dave.  It's all better now.  I thought it was strange the way that worked.  Much appreciated.
