Individuals and Organisations

Hi,

We're in the process of selecting a CRM and leaning towards Civi - but I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer to in the documentation - what exactly is the relationship between individuals and organisations (i.e. is there any hierarchical relationship?) and can individuals belong to more than one organisation?

Thanks!

ashlee

Hi,

You can define as many type of relationship as you want beside the default employer/employee, eg. advisor, board member, investor...

You can have as many relations between one Ind and one of several org, and vice versa.

You can as well create more types. You might get a clearer idea of what civi can or can't do in this book (that's been updated recently to cover the new version that's coming up soon).

Let us know what you have chosen at the end, always interesting to hear results of comparisons.
