I uninstalled civicrm 3.0.2 after backing up database and com_civicrm directory.

I then uploaded 3.1.4 and unzipped it on the server in the tmp directory. After installing from unzipped directory, I attempted to update database and got a message "Database already at version 3.0.2".

What do I need to do to get the database upgraded? The civi-crm module still says 3.0.2 at the bottom.

Thanks in advance for any direction...

this page helped me out quite a bit. Down the page, you'll find a link to the database upgrade script:

I'm now having a small problem with any civi page bringing up a blank screen. Let me know if you get up and running.

You could try upgrading to version 3.1.2 I also upgraded from version 3.0.2 to that version and it works perfectly well. You should also read the link pasted by rchapman carefully.
