Fatal Error When Adding New CiviCRM Profile

Hey Guys,

I get the following error when I attempt to add a new CiviCRM Profile.


CiviCRM Profile

Profile Name *

Used For
Fatal error: Smarty error: [in CRM/UF/Form/Group.hlp line 91]: syntax error: mismatched tag {/htxt}. expected {/ts} (opened line 90). (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 2338) in/home/content/s/i/s/sisteradmin/html/snsha/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/packages/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1093




Any thoughts?

Known bug, patch with file found here:

http://svn.civicrm.org/civicrm/branches/v3.1/templates/CRM/UF/Form/Group.hlp

There's a forum post somewhere but it will just lead you to that file  ;D

Thank you Johng -- unfortunately for me I am not familiar with the patch installation process.

Is the patch delivered as a template?

Where does the patch go and How do I install it?

Could someone tell me or point me to the patch installation process or document?

Hi, just overwrite the file with the one found where I linked.

Thank you - no longer getting the "fatal error when adding new CiviCRM profile" - however, I still cannot add a new profile.

Now I get pass the previous error to, add a "New CiviCRM Profile", but I never get to the actual  Post Form to add the new profile.  Absolutely a blank Post Form with no fields to add "profile name"; "First Name, Last Name"; and "City" .

I can add contacts, groups, custom data, etc with any problems.   So this problem seems to be isolated to the CiviCRM profile.

I have stepped through the configuration checklist many times.  And I am wondering, does the captcha have to be configured before setting up a new CiviCRM profile?

Have I forgot a key configuration step to setup CiviCRM profile?

Something you may want to try before looking at those things is upgrading to the latest version that was released a few days ago. I know they added the profile fix. If that doesn't work perhaps I or one of the civi people can offer some suggestions.

The upgrade 3.1.5 worked.
