We would like to find out how much members are donating over and above their membership dues, in particular provinces.

So we want to find contributions by members that are not their membership payment
and sort by province.

I've tried an export but there isn't an option for membership type in the fields exported.

Is this a custom search? Because of the regional requirement an export would need to give custom data or at least address details.

Hi.

First off, I hope that you are collecting donations as a different contribution type than member dues. For instance, they pay their dues as "Membership Dues" and make donations as "Donations". If this is NOT the case, you are probably up a creek. You should always use multiple contribution types to distinguish between (in general) why people are giving money.

That being said, go to Advanced Search.

Open up the "Memberships" area and select the membership types and statuses that you want. For instance "General Members" of status "New, Current, or Grace".

Then open up the Contributions area. Select the date range that you wish (if any). Select from Contribution type "Donations".

So what you are doing with this search is finding all your members who have given you a Donation (as opposed to just Dues). The results are sortable by province.
