Can CiviSMTP avoid duplicate mails to the same address?

I'm starting up using civimail and civismtp in the coming weeks.

In civicrm there is currently no option for avoiding duplicate mails to the same email address used by different contacts (see http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-3975, it is planned for 3.4)

Is there a way that civismtp can do that job and avoid duplicate sendings for the same address?

hi,  no, civismtp does not have that capability. we offer the relay and return channel only.
