Your note has been saved but there is no notes for this contact !
May 20, 2010, 04:10:28 am
I'm getting contradicting messages when editing contacts informations like adding notes, or add to groups.

For example I add a note on a contact, when submitting the note I get two messages :
1. Your note has been saved.
2. there are no notes for this contacts. You can add one

Please see attached screeen capture Sorry ,this forum only accepts images under 32kb which I can't do !

When changing tab and coming back to the note tab  the second message is gone, displaying in place the note.

I've also noticed troubles when adding someone to a group or removing him. It seems to me that the informations displayed in the group tab are not being refreshed after the change, but get refreshed somehow after.

I'm using Civicrm 3.1.4 on joomla 1.5.17

CiviCRM uses AJAX, which updates data "on the fly" as you make changes.  Unfortunately, depending on a variety of circumstances, the definition of "on the fly" can be variable, and it can be a pretty slow flight.   :)

I'm not a Joomla expert, but check your configuration URL and so on in your settings.  Make sure that CiviCRM is able to find the jQuery libraries and other files necessary for AJAX.

It's also possible your server is experiencing slowness, and therefore data is not updated promptly.

I would suggest taking a screen capture and saving using a PNG-8 with 32 colors.  This can be accomplished using Photoshop or GIMP if you prefer open-source for your image program.  This should get your screen capture under 32K
Try CiviTeacher: the online video tutorial CiviCRM learning library.
