Is it possible to define if for example the address of a certain contact is public or private in the anonymous search? Right now I created 3 custom fields:
public_email (yes or no)
public_phone (yes or no)
public_address (yes or no)

I then use these fields when I sync contacts to nodes in drupal to define what's public or not.

This works fine but when there is a public and a private address i run into trouble.

Any advice? Or would It be a nice new feature to add in civicrm, I could help developing this feature ?

basically we should consider permissioning email/phone/address (and maybe other fields also) with a lot more granularity.

public and private are pretty high level, so i'd probably increase the granularity and make it role based

in the long run, i think keeping this functionality as a separate module but allowing the hooks to influence what fields are shown is the way to go. You might want to consider this approach

if you can work on it, that would be awesome. ping us on IRC and we can discuss a strategy
