Posting comments on CiviCRM blog
May 27, 2010, 08:05:57 am
Just tried to post a comment on the civicrm blog (specifically the thread on 4.0 thoughts and ideas) and I got the following:
"Your submission has triggered the spam filter and will not be accepted."
Tried both as guest and logged in user, even a short 1 sentence post. What might be causing this, other than my being an idiot in general? Just curious.

BTW I went through the earlier thread http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,13734.0.html relating to this problem but didn't see any resolution or explanation - just wondering what the status is

can u try reposting the comment from another location?

if i had to guess this issue is with mollom blocking your IP. i just upgraded mollom in the slight chance it will fix it. we get way too much spam to not use a spam service like mollom

Found several threads on drupal.org including this one http://drupal.org/node/684424 that relate to the same problem. Was able to post ok to that thread, FWIW. Don't have a convenient way to post from a different location at the moment, but will try again later this eve on the Civi blog to see if anything has changed. I was not getting a captcha or any other response, just blocked, regardless of whether posting as logged in user or as guest. Even if it was blocking on my ip address, why would it do that? Based on what? Love to know what's going on.

OK, this it a real PITA now. Just tried to post another comment on the blog, took the trouble to log in first, confirmed I was logged in as a user, tried to post a short 2-sentence comment and got the 'your submission has triggered the spam filter" bs as soon as I hit preview. No captcha, just the spam message. This seems a little conter-productive to me. In fact its downright aggravating.

your best bet would be to continue following up on the drupal node with dries and the mollom folks. not a lot we can do with regard to it (other than disabling mollom which is unlikely)

Thanks for trying to help. I've posted a couple of comments over on GDO and undoubtedly made a fool of myself there, so more than enough time has been spent on it.
