Mismatched Contact ID's or Types During Import of Individuals
October 21, 2007, 03:23:16 pm
While updating civicrm  from our master in Access, with 2800 records or so,  about 200 returned this error:

Mismatched contact IDs OR Mismatched contact Types :

I did a search on Civic Forum  and found there’s a bug in 1.7 and earlier that occasionally throws the error during import of ORGANIZATIONS. Supposed to be fixed in 1.8.  I didn’t find anything about individual imports.

I’m importing individuals, choosing “Update”.

I manually checked Civicrm, some are in there already, some are new. I tried using “no duplicate checking” , "fill", as well as removing any contact matching rules, no luck. I just want to add them….I don’t care about updating, System refuses though to swallow them though. How can I get past this?

Thanx.

Doug

I think the contact ID that you are trying to import does not exists in database. Can you confirm that.

Good Question, some contacts have internal civicrm id's, some don't. If I turn duplicate matching off, will that still be an issue? And I tried NOT importing that field, internal contact id, and i still got the same number of errors.

Mismatched contact IDs OR Mismatched contact Types :
You get this error only when you use Internal Contact Id during import and if that contact Id does not exists in your db.

Mismatched contact Types
You get this error when "Contact Match" found for the contact that you are trying to import is of different Contact Type.
