Last and First Name on reports
May 27, 2010, 02:34:50 pm
I'd like to have Last Name then First Name in 2 separate fields in all of my reports rather than the full name in one field.
Any ideas?
Thanks!!! ;D

You need to modify $this->_columns to take first_name and last_name fields

This will help you.

in general pasting complete sections of code on the forums is not recommended

seems like you might want to consider hiring someone from http://civicrm.org/professional/ to help you make the desired changes

Thanks Rajan for your pointer.

Our organization also wises to sort via last name. I would think this a common enough request, so perhaps it could be considered for Civi core and eliminate for us to develop a custom report. (hint, hint...)

As a bonus, I am going to attempt to modify the "Membership Report (Detail)" report in such a way as to leave First and Last name fields separated when the Export to CSV is performed.

Hi,

You might have heard about mih http://www.civicrm.org/mih that seems to be a good way of providing improvements to civicrm while feeding the developers. In general, when the org(s) with the initial request is providing about half of the funding, the new feature is added as one looking for further funding (hint, hint ;)

Rajan seems to point out to a simple solution (read: that one single org could fund with a few hours of development...)
