Profile anonymous access - please help
May 28, 2010, 02:21:36 pm
Hi All,

I created a profile for newsletter subscription. Since the user will be anonymous, I created an ACL to give Edit permission to Everyone on this profile. I remember it worked in 2.2 with anonymous user.

For example for newsletter subscription the profile Id is 9 and url:
http://<xyz>/civicrm/profile/create?reset=1&gid=9

Today after few months I tried same profile using 3.1.3 and got the error. Tried a new profile from scratch in 3.1.3 and still got the same error even with ACL permission to Everyone. Is this a bug? I don't have old version of civicrm to try.

Note: New profile has Id 19, old one ID is 9

Error:
"Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred.
The requested Profile (gid=19) is disabled OR it is not configured to be used for 'Profile' listings in its Settings OR there is no Profile with that ID OR you do not have permission to access this profile. Please contact the site administrator if you need assistance."

Can anyone please help? I did try patch in CRM-5909 for 3.1.3 that didn't seem to help.

I prefer not to set permission at drupal level for this as it could expose other profiles.

Did you find an answer here? I'm running into similar issues with one installation after upgrade to 3.1. I know there are several new profile permissions, but I have no idea how the new 'profile listings' differs form the familiar 'profile listings and forms' and it doesn't seem to be documented in the wiki...

Solved it:

Despite the help text on the ACL Assignment page, 'View' permission is no longer sufficient for profile listings.
