no standalone directory
May 30, 2010, 10:20:49 pm
"The user account used by your web-server - www-data - needs to be granted write access to the following directory in order to configure the CiviCRM settings file: /var/www/drupal/sites/all/modules/civicrm/standalone"

I been having trouble install civicrm on drupal  saying that www-data has no permission but what i did is to give permission to standalone directory but unfortunately there is no standalone directory :( can anybody help me on this issue , thanks in advance

Hi,

You've posted in Drupal installations but your error message referes to standalone directory. What are you trying to do? Are you aware standalone is not longer supported and the recommendation is now to install drupal (or Joomla!) as a shell around your civi-install?

Using CiviCRM within either Joomla! or Drupal is recommended - take a look @ the floss manual - the link is at the top of this page - for some really well-laid introductory information

Yes, you should install CiviCRM inside of Drupal. As Eileen said, that is the recommended approach. Install instructions are here: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Drupal+Installation+Guide
