There is no "Save Matching Contact" button

I went to edit a contact and CiviCRM reported a match and “If you're sure this record is not a duplicate, click the 'Save Matching Contact' button below”, but there is no such button anywhere on the page. The only buttons are “Save”, “Save and New” [Which doesn't make sense, grammatically or otherwise], and “Cancel”.

The contacts have the same first names.

Thanks for any clues on how to deal with this and update the record.

I just noticed that after I first press “Save”, this error appears with the URL changed to "civicrm/contact/add" , which is totally wacky.

The URL is correct. The "Save Matching Contact" button is a ways down the page so you may not have noticed it. Screenshot from 3.1 demo attached.

If you still are having problems with this, see if you can recreate the behavior your seeing on the public demo (link above).
