disable email
October 22, 2007, 08:18:39 am
Hello everyone,

In regards to contribution pages, is there a way to disable the means to edit the e-mail address on the page itself?  I have a registration going on where only logged in users will access the page and I do not want users to be able to change their e-mail address when going through the contribution.

Thanks,

Dave Greenberg

For my education ... given that this is a logged in user who can modify their email address through My Account - why is it important to prevent this on the contribution form?

In any case, you might be able to do what you want by creating a custom version of the contribution form template:
templates/CRM/Contribute/Form/Contribution/Main.tpl

... you'd probably need to replace the form field that currently displays/posts the email address with a hidden field that has the same name and value. (line 59 in the 1.9 version of this template) - and then test it out.

Check the Develop section of the online doc for specifics on customizing templates.

Thanks you Dave.

The reason why I want to prevent them from edit their e-mail address on the contribution page itself, is that my custom Drupal account registrations, requires the user to continue to a contribution page where they sign up for a membership.  So for the purpose of my site, it doesn't make sense for them to have the ability to change their e-mail address on the contribution page if they've just provided one for their Drupal account.

Regards,
