Get Internal Server Error 500 when accessing Profile
June 02, 2010, 01:01:31 pm
We have created a navigation menu item for user to Update their profile.  The menu item is linked to:

http://<mysite>/civicrm/profile/edit?reset=1&gid=1    (we have tried other gid=7; specifically one that was for a custom profile that we created)

and after a user logs in and clicks on the UpdateProfile link, user gets "Error 500 - Internal server Error".

Our permissions settings are ON for Authenticated users:
access CIVICRM
access all custom data
profile create
profile listings
profile edit
profile listings and forms
profile view
register for events
make online contributions
view event info

Please let us know what may be resulting in internal server error.

A 500 - Internal server Error is not a permissions error. Usually it's a PHP error. Can you access your error logs and see what the error is?

I have access to a log file:
/sites/<mysite>/files/civicrm/templates_c/en_US/ConfigAndLog/CiviCRM.85dc60f8d89cbd93b819caf790da4848.log

it was too big to send, so I made the mistake of deleting the content.  Nothing has been written to this log in 5 minutes.  Did you mean this file?
I see a bunch of php temp folders and files in:  /sites/<mysite>/files/civicrm/templates_c/en_US/en_US/

I do not have access to folders above /sites.

No I meant the server error log. I would suggest you ask your host how to see that.

My best guess is the problem is with multisite Drupal.  I have not configured CiviCRM to multisite
