Moving from single site install to multisite
June 04, 2010, 07:34:13 pm
I have a site (abc1.com) running CiviCRM on Drupal.

I want to host several new domain names abc2.com, abc3.com, ... and run multisite Drupal & multisite CiviCRM.

Currently abc1.com is serviced by folder /sites/default/.  Is the best practice for adding new domains to create new folders sites/abc2.com and sites/abc3.com?
Should I do something about folders associated with abc1.com?

After this, I will follow the CiviCRM multisite instructions.  Let me know if there are any precautions.

This is more of a drupal question ... I do not have access to httpd.conf, so if someone can suggest what goes into it for such a configuration, I will tell the hosting provider.

thanks

Hershel

I believe so.

No, they can stay in sites/default/files . Just set the others to use sites/abc2.com/files etc.
