Activity Permissions

Is it possible to set permissions so that users can only view their activities, but not create new or edit any activities?  I have been reviewing permissions and ACL's, but have not been able find the answer.  Any help appreciated.

i dont believe this is possible

the easiest way might be to create a drupal module that exposes activities to the user
