I'm trying to figure out some odd behavior I've seen in the civicrm/user screen (aka:  "My Contact Dashboard").

What does the list of groups in the

Your Group(s)

section represent, and what should be in the "Join" list of groups?

I'd expect that the lists would be consistent what you see in the contact record, but they're not, even on the demo site.  http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/user?reset=1 says that john test2 johnson is in Advisory Board and Newsletter Subscribers.  But if you go to his contact record (http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/view?reset=1&cid=103) he also belong to Adminstrators.

What's the difference here?  Group Type (Mailing List vs. ACL) or whether it's a self add or not?  Neither is really consistent with a system I'm testing, but like most of my systems, it's modified, so I can't be sure I'm looking at the same behavior as the demo.  But the demo is confusing enough to start with :-)
