Joomla 1.5, CiviCRM 1.9

After a successful install on Joomla 1.0.13 of CiviCRM 1.9 stable - I am doing an test install on Joomla 1.5 (RC3) on IIS

Unfortunately the install doesn't even get out the starting blocks and immediately throws this error after trying to install from directory

Fatal error: Call to a member function generateUID() on a non-object in C:\Domains\mydomain.org\wwwroot\joomlaroot\libraries\domit\xml_domit_lite_parser.php on line 78

Here are the relevant lines of this file

76   function _constructor() {
77   global $uidFactory;
78   $this->uid = $uidFactory->generateUID();
79      } // _constructor

If anyone can point me in the right direction I'll be most appreciative

Thanks

Dave Greenberg

Dan - We've had some folks do successful installs w/ 1.9 and Joomla 1.5 - altho it seems like each Joomla RC winds up causing some new issue on our side :-(

There's some "draft" instructions for installing to Joomla 1.5 here:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Install+CiviCRM+1.9+for+Joomla

... and one key point is enabling "legacy plugins" - possibly this will help you.

You might also want to search this forum for other Joomla 1.5 posts.

If you have success and find that the doc needs additions or modifications - please jump in and edit it.
