CiviMail Reporting
June 16, 2010, 12:38:04 pm
Hey all.

I'm doing some testing of CiviMail and have run into a few snags.  When I send a mailing and look at the reporting for the mailing, I notice that I have a 100 percent delivery rate, even though mail has been sent to addresses that have bounced.  I double check the mail logs and can see that some of the addresses are bad and have bounced.

Also, some mail is being rejected because the incoming mail server cannot find my reverse host name.  Still these recipients show up as successful deliveries.

I am using sendmail.  Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Hm, I think in the case of sendmail we can’t really tell anything about the delivery after sendmail exits with a successful status (and we probably then register the delivery as successful).

If this is indeed the case, can you file an issue, ideally with a patch that would make any bounce event registration for a given mailing+contact pair also drop any delivery events for that pair? (Although I’m not sure this is the right approach…)
