Can't edit email field in contact profiles

Hi all,

I'm just getting started with CiviCRM and noticed that once I add a contact, I cannot subsequently update the email address. It appears read-only, with no text input ability. Also, if I try to add a secondary address, it also doesn't render the email field. The user I'm logged in as has full permissions, yet the interesting thing is that I can edit the email for my current user. In fact, it seems any contact that it synced with a Drupal user is editable, but is not otherwise. Is this a permissions thing, or shall I file a bug report perhaps related to the beta I'm using?

Hm, I guess it must be something with my installation... The first screen shows the email field in read-only mode, and the second displays the same behavior when I attempt to add another email address. I don't get any error messages, so I'm puzzled as to why it would be impacting this particular field.

I did a fresh install of Drupal and CiviCRM and it seems to be working. The only odd thing at this point is CRM page titles are being repeated twice; it looks like Drupal and CiviCRM both display the page title or something.

UPDATE: Aaand now it's back to normal. Very odd. The cost of running beta, I suppose.
