 ???Hello guys out there....I hope someone would be able to fix this for me....tnx...I used my joomla+civicrm to create a field under administer>custom data which its data type and field type was "file"...which is for uploading of files and attacments...I added it to a profile, and linked it up with a membership registration page. I filled the fields for the registration page but it keeps returning the error below


 Please correct the following errors in the form fields below:

    * Files is a required field.

Please can someone help me fix it ???

Looks like while adding the field "Files" to the profile you may have checked Required?
You might want to edit the profile field and uncheck the field.

Thanks a lot for replying my post...
Please note that I filled the "file" field but it still returns the message I posted earlier....I dont want to remove the field because its a requirement by my client for the site I am building. Though I have tried what you asked me to do, but when I filled the registration form, it did not store the file that I uploaded....Please if there is a more efficient way of uploading files/attachments please I wont mind if you let me know.
