Want to Notify PCP owners via email when donations are made

Our organization would like PCP personal campaign page owners to get a notification email when someday donates via their PCP page. Do you have any suggestions on how to create this feature? I've searched the boards and found reference to hooks -- but don't fully understand how that works yet.

Please advise, thank you

You can implement this feature using hooks. You might want to hire someone from professional list to implement this feature for you ( http://civicrm.org/professional)

We do have some money for creation of this feature -- so I would like to find the right developer who has in-depth knowledge about civicontribute, the personal campaign pages, and the email templates. Ideally this feature could be given back to the civicrm community, because it seems like a natural fit with the personal campaign pages. Our site is http://www.pitchforisrealdetroit.com. Can you point me towards the right people?

I would recommend contacting claudian @ Web Access, but there are other too http://civicrm.org/professional
