WYSIWYG in notes
July 01, 2010, 04:48:03 am
Hi.

How do I activate the WYSIWYG-editor in my Contact-notes-section (new note)?

I currently have plain text (see the attached screen-shot).

Thanks!

I believe there's no wysiwyg for notes because generally there's no use case for it.

Notes are not displayed on public pages therefore does not need to be rendered in html. They are used to denote additional information regarding to the contact.

Adding wysiwyg to notes would also hinder the searchbility of contacts by notes.

What use case you have for wysiwyg editor for notes?

OK, thanks for the reply. I thought it was something about searchability.

I often have notes in different formats for easy readability.

Like word documents with rich formating and images (I don't think images are importable in the WYSIWYG per copy paste - but it would be cool if possible).

Old mail correspondence which has rich formatting also. I am new with CiviCRM, so I have a lot of old stuff I have to save in the system.

This is not extremely important for me, and I probably could make a custom text field, and use WYSIWYG that way....
