Relationship "can view and update information for" issues
July 01, 2010, 01:31:27 pm
So when I created a relationship between two contacts (e.g. "spouse of" for two individuals) there are boxes I can check that say "can view and update information for" for both sides of the relationship.  That sounds like some really handy functionality.  However, I have no where where or how either user in that relationship can update each other's information.  I assume (obviously incorrectly) that they would have access to each other's data vai a "profile" but that doesn't seem to be how this works.

How does it work?

Thanks!

Okay, that helps, but how do individuals view their contact dashboards?  When I log in as my test user, I don't see any obvious way to get to such a thing.  When I go to my user profile for that account, I can see the profile I made for editing the user's own contact information, but there's no list of other contacts.

When I'm logged in as the administrator, and I go to a user's profile, I can see the links at the bottom of the page for "View Contact Record" and "View Contact Dashboard," but they aren't visible to the user when the user logs in.  I'm sure there's more permissions stuff that I'm not getting... but I'm really not getting it.

Thanks.

Never mind... access Contact Dashboard was turned off in the Drupal permissions.  I checked it for authenticated users and I can now see the link in the dummy user profile and it seems to be showing the correct information.

Thanks!
