Cannot View all Activity Types in Dropdown

Hi all,

Do I have to configure something so that I can see all my activity types in the Activity Type drop-down when i am creating a new activity?

When CCRM was first installed I saw Meeting, Phone Call, and Email. I created an activity called Postcard Mailing and now I only see Meeting, Phone Call, and Postcard Mailing.  ???

Do I have to set a limit somewhere that allows me to see more than just three?

you cannot select activity types that are used internally ( Event Registration, Contribution etc)

those activity types are set via specific workflows (like when sending an email :)

Creating a new Activity Type should not cause built-in types to "disappear". If you're working with a particular contact and the 'Emall' activity is not available - check that the contact as at least one email address entered, that they do NOT have the 'Do not email' privacy setting checked and that they are not marked deceased (any of these attributes causes the Email activity to be hidden).

Also, make sure you have valid Outbound Email settings (Administer > Global Settings > Outbound Email Settings).

Hi guys,

Sorry for the delay in responding.

Thanks for both of your suggestions.

Dave, this is happening when I select Contact - New Activity. I click the drop-down for Activity Type and there's only:

Meeting
Phone Call
Postcard Mailing

It used to read:

Meeting
Phone Call
Email

...before I added the Postcard Mailing activity type.

I even selected myself as a recipient to make sure I'd have someone that had email. Thought that might dynamically change the drop-down, but it didn't.  :(

Any other ideas?

Vanessa - In 3.1 and 3.2, you don't get 'Email' as an option in the Activity form dropdown - there's a separate menu item for New Email (and in 3.2 a separate item on the Actions button).

I came here to find out the same thing. After reading this thread I now understand that the other activities are accessed through different menus; however, I'd also like to point out that offering the dropdown to select an activity type, and then only finding 2 activity types (I'm using v3.2) is both frustrating and confusing. It's not clear from the UI that the other activity types are found elsewhere.
