I know that I can have view-only custom fields, and I know that smart groups are automatically maintained by CiviCRM based on the criteria I've set. 

I also know that contacts can be manually added to or removed from a smart group whether or not they match the group's criteria.

Is there a way to make smart groups view-only, similar to view-only custom fields?  I have some smart groups for which it does not make sense to allow for manually adding contacts to or removing contacts from the group, and I'd just as soon like to set things up to prevent this from happening (either inadvertently or intentionally).
