Find Duplicates failing. First+Email returns matches where First does not match

Hi - on a 3.1.5 installation there is a rule
Type = Strict
First = 10
Email = 10
Weight required = 20

Yet the results I get include eg
Peter Yeats | John Yeats | 20

so the first name is NOT matching, email is, yet the Threshold says 20 and it comes up as a match.

I cannot see why this rule should be failing. Any pointers

I've see this happen before, but wasn't actively deduping live data and didn't look closely at it.  But I kind of suspected that maybe there were two emails matching, and so points were being counted for each one.  Would that apply to your case?

Bingo - perhaps.

Yes so if Person A has me@you.com in two locations and Person B has me@you.com in one (or more) locations then it is achieving the Threshold even though First does not match.

So me thinks make First 10 and Email 2 - and Threshold 12 - that way multiple email matches won't make it happen - and hey presto suddenly i have only one match, which makes me think I am now missing lots. Hmm

Yeah, I kinda think it would be nice to have a "don't score this criteria more than once" option, but I'm not sure how (or if) that would work.
