bounce email setup on joomla
July 05, 2010, 07:58:30 pm
I'm following the instructions in the manual to "configure the return channel to manage bounces" and am stuck at the part where they tell me to test my email settings by running this command:

http://example.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/bin/EmailProcessor.php?name=username&pass=password&key=your_site_install_key

I'm running Joomla and my host is dreamhost. I've created an email called "bounce" and set up that info in the civicrm Admin>CiviMail>Mail Accounts.

I'm guessing that the above URL is based on a Drupal install as EmailProcessor.php was in administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/bin/
I have it running, but it reports back:
ERROR: Invalid username and/or password
(It's passing the security_key part.)

So, is the username "bounce" or "bounce@mysite.com"? And if it is "bounce@mysite.com" do I escape the @ sign (and if so, how?) Note dreamhost's email set up says the full user ID is name@mysite.com.

Similarly on the Admin>CiviMail>Mail Accounts page do I use "bounce" for the username there or "bounce@mysite.com"?

the username and password are of a joomla account that can access civicrm (which is pretty much any admin account)
