Multiple Registrations Same Email
July 06, 2010, 07:18:46 am
Hello All,

I have set up an event, and registration page. My settings allow for the using the same email address to register multiple participants, and I changed the strict duplicate check to include first and last name. Despite this, when I register multiple people, the it overwrites the participant first and last name, the only thing that gets recorded correctly is the t-shirt size which is a participant attribute rather than an individual attribute.

Any word on what I may be doing wrong?

B.

Thanks Lobo, I am on 3.1.5, but I figured it out, the threshold levels were too high, so it was seeing a match for the email and then disregarding the rest.

Maybe a few more words could be added to the help bubble indicating that the threshold levels should be changed also.

Hi bdanza,
I am experiencing the problem as you did. Could you direct me how to change strict duplicate check and the threshold level?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hey kevin,

By setting a total threshold as 20, with email set as 10, first and last name as 5 and 7, you ensure that it will only break the threshold if all three values match.

you could also bring it up to something like 40 and add a brithday in there.

In any case, with the level set as I set it, it will create a new record every time first or last name are different from the original registrant.
