using the default Joomla editor inside Civi
July 06, 2010, 07:25:34 pm
I have made some modifications to 3.1.5 to allow the use of the default editor configured in Joomla, inside of Civi (instead of using the two options included with Civi -- TinyMCE and CKEditor). For Joomla/Civi users, this can be really valuable -- I install JCE with all client sites because of the ability to configure options easily and the nice tools for building links to internal Joomla resources.

Anyway -- I need a couple people to test it, and possibly help me squash one lingering bug. (the bug is basically that in my testing it is working in both front and backend, except for the events info screen -- i think that has to do with how javascript is handled on that page).

So if you're interested, PM me and I'll send the files and details.

Did you get it working?

I'm using 3.1.4 and I need to change the editor to the one Joomla uses.

just uploaded the patch files to:
http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-6455

note that I was primarily testing this using JCE. if you're using a different editor, I'd like to know if it worked well.

The option group id was 33 not 32, so I had to change that.

But everything else worked fine. It still needs more testing but it looks good.

I used JCKEditor (http://www.joomlackeditor.com/)
