Confirmation email error
October 29, 2007, 11:45:35 am
The following is in the confirmation email I get after registering for an event:

first_name : Array
last_name : Array
street_address-1 : Array
city-1 : Array
postal_code-1 : Array
state_province-1 : Array

Does anyone know what went wrong?

Thanks,
Henry

Please specify CiviCRM release / revision, which CMS you're using, which payment processor (or is this a free event)... and clarify whether other parts of CiviCRM seem to be working normally etc.

I'm using civiCRM 1.8 on Drupal 5.1.  I have not set up a payment processor yet so it is currently a free event. Every other parts of CiviCRM is working correctly.  Not sure if this relates or not, but the confirmation emails looked perfectly fine before I repointed my DNS.  I had set my domain url as test.mydomain.com in the civicrm.settings.php file before repointing my DNS.  After I repoint my DNS changed the domain url in civicrm.settings.php to mydomain.com, the confirmation email message looked like this.

In general - it's helpful to provide information about the "history" of a problem when you report it :-) You might try the following:
* Verify your Resource URL Settings (Admin CiviCRM >> Global Settings)
* Enable Debug and reset your session and cleanup your template cache. Instructions are here:

Dave,

Thanks for your reply.  I was able to pin point my problem.  I have a "Organization Name" field in the form that the users need to fill out when they are registering for an event.  If I disable/remove this field, the confirmation email looks fine when a user registers for an event.  I am not sure what changed in the Organization settings when I repointed my DNS since it worked before I did that.  My Resource URL Settings is correct but I have not yet enabled Debug, reset my session, and cleanup my template cache yet. Should I still enabled Debug, reset my session, and cleanup my template cache? I figured that this might not be the cause of my problem.  Please advise.

Henry

Doing the "cleanup steps" is pretty easy - so I would do that and see if you can then use your "Organization Name" field.

If you can then still recreate your issue when you enable this field, please try and recreate this problem by setting up an Event with your "Organization Name" field included on our demo site. Note that you won't be able to see the email - since the demo doesn't send them out - but once you've configured things to match your own setup we can investigate.
