Latest version of CiviCRM completely compatible with mysql 5.0.x
July 13, 2010, 07:23:46 pm
Hello. I have quite unpleasantly found out my current host (of which I am reseller) still runs mysql 5.0.x through Cpanel. I'm setting up a Drupal site, and installed the latest CiviCRM 2.2 in a MAMP environment using mysql 5.1.x. I went to transfer the site to my staging server and was unable to import the civicrm DB because I don't have SUPER privileges.
I am in quite a pinch, and need to setup CiviCRM fast. What's the latest version of CiviCRM that still works on MYSQL 5.0.x without super privs?
Might I note I am a bit frustrated that CiviCRM would choose to integrate mysql triggers in to it's core. I'm sure I am not the only person feeling like they are being left in the dust...   :-\

To make sure there is no misunderstanding here, CiviCRM only requires SUPER privileges for multi-lingual features. All other features do not require that. Are you using multi-lingual for this site?

Hershel, the site is in English and French. I am only using CiviMail and CiviContribute, along with managing constituents information.
That is good to know, though, that it only requires SUPER privileges for multi-lingual configs.
Would you happen to know then what version I could use?
I live in Canada, and most sites at the political level must be french and english.

Thanks
-Marcus

Sorry, I don't know. I'm sure someone else will answer however.

No one answered yet. I have a suspicion that the latest version that has what you are requesting would be for Drupal 5, which I don't think anyone would recommend. I certainly wouldn't.
