Views2 > CiviCRM relationships > relationship type field > no content in view
July 15, 2010, 05:26:52 pm
Using Views2, when I create a view of type 'CiviCRM relationships' and add a field 'Relationship Type A-to-B', there is no content in the view.

Running the query by hand shows a number is being returned for the relationship_type_id field.

  • Do I need to tweak something to make this display?
  • On reflection, it would be nice to display the name of the relationship rather than the number. Where should such requests be made?

Thanks,
Ken

One of the attachments here has a View that was successfully using Relationships in case that helps you reverse engineer something http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,14376.msg61425.html#msg61425

Thanks, Peter!

As I'm new to views, let me just think aloud for a moment...

  • I assume I can import the *.view.txt files into Views?
  • Neither file refers to 'relationship_type' but directory.view.txt refers to 'membership_type', so am I right in assuming the relationship is a membership?

If I'm correct, then comparing the code for membership_type and relationship_type should highlight what the problem is.

So yes you should be able to just import in to Views - yes it is Directory that is showing a Relationship - which is Relationship B = Company. Since I didn't build this I can't promise that it is being applied or whether some work had to be done to have it become an option but the site does have a Directory working whereby if you click on Company you get the records of all the employees. Hope it helps, apologies if it is just a red herring.
