Clearing "On Hold" COntact Status Set by CiviMail

I'm using CiviCRM 3.1.1 and in using CiviMail only 13 of 250 emails are sent successfully and the remainder bounced! The Bounce Reason is an unhelpful: "Unknown bounce type: Could not parse bounce email"
The only pattern I can discern is that none of the "Successful Deliveries" have a prefix, whereas the Bounced contacts do (i.e. Mr., Mrs., Miss., etc.).

Also is there any way to mass-clear the "On-Hold" status for the bounced contacts? I can't seem to find the Profile field corresponding to that status flag.

Ok.. so I've solved part of my own problem...by using a basic SQL command to reset the value of the 'on_hold' field in the 'civicrm_email' table from "1" to "0" for all contacts...

Any suggestions though on how to resolve the "bounced" mail issue?

I've tried patching:
- CRM/Utils/Mail.php
- CRM/Utils/Mail/FixedMailMIME.php

as described in the POst: http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,10148.msg59787.html#msg59787 but no improvement thus far...

Can you try upgrading to CiviCRM 3.2.0? PEAR finally fixed their various mail libraries and we included the new versions (while also dropping our – not necessarily bulletproof – workarounds).
If you found the above helpful, please consider helping us in return – you can even steer CiviCRM’s future and help us extend CiviCRM in ways useful to you.

Yes, I was delighted to see 3.2 out of Beta.. We will proceed with Upgrade and hopefully see the problem resolved..
