Glitch in Map Contacts function
July 22, 2010, 12:40:02 pm
If I do a particular search, CiviCRM finds (in this case) 130 contacts, which take up more than one screen. If I click the “All 130 records” circle, then “Map Contacts” & Go, the map will show everyone in the database – not just the 130 contacts that meet the particular search criteria.

This only happens in IE (so far).  Mozilla works correctly.  Any ideas?

Also, if I select one contact from page 1, then click next, then select one contact from page 2, then select "Map Contacts" and click on "Go", the selection from page 1 is lost.  This happens in both IE and Mozilla.

This strikes me as being at least a flaw, since users may want to select records from multiple pages and work with them.

this is a missing feature. if important to you consider contributing code to implement this (across all actions) and/or sponsoring the core team to add this functionality. I suspect this is a non-trivial project (40-70 hours?)

I'm not a PHP programmer, just a user, so I am not in a position to contribute any code.

As for sponsoring the core team to add this (or other) functionality, is there a "master list" somewhere of functionality requests that users can go to, to help them decide (and/or vote on) which requested features are most important to them?  For example, an individual's list of "important to him/her" features is based solely on their (perhaps limited) experience with CiviCRM, but perusing a list of other requests might give them other ideas they hadn't yet thought of -- and an opportunity to weigh in on others' requested features.

Or does one simply search the support fora for the phrase "consider contributing code or sponsoring the core team"

Currently no centralized place for feature requests and potential sponsorships. The forum does have a top level feature requests and suggestions board:
