We are using CiviCRM to take registrations for our coming conference. People can register online and pay using Google Checkout. One issue we are having is knowing the names of those who have registered. For example, I will receive 3 google Checkout receipts all under the name "John Doe". When I check Civi, I see three people registered as "John Doe". The problem is that I have no way of knowing the names of the other people John Doe registered. Then, I have to email him and ask him for the names.
Now, I have turned off the option of allowing people to register multiple people under one name, but people don't like having to register three separate times if they are trying to register three people.

What am I doing wrong?

You can configure a 'Profile' and use it in your event registration forms to collect first and last name (and any other info you need) for both the primary person registering and for additional people they register for.

Ok....do I need to change something in my online registration part of my event? see screenshot.

Your setup looks ok except you should change the Additional Participants (bottom of page) to NOT have "Name and Address" profile selected (you don't want to have that profile on the page twice). Just set that field back to '-select-'.
