Add CiviMember and create Drupal user manually, at the same time ?
July 25, 2010, 08:21:18 pm
Hi folks,
I have CiviCRM 2.2 and Drupal 6 installed for our organization. Our organization collects membership dues. For new membership signups, I use a CiviContribute page hooked up to a Profile for collecting additional info, and our payment processor gateway. I have chosen the option to force creation of a Drupal account for every member that signs up (because we give them access to the site).

The problem is, sometimes we collect membership dues in person, and we need to add the member manually. I want to know:
Is there any way to create the CiviCRM contact AND drupal account, manually, at the same time?

We can't use the public registration form because don't want to go through the payment processing again.
So far the only way I can think of is to manually add the Contact through CiviCRM's admin features, then manually add a contribution and a membership type for that person, and then separate create a drupal user for that person and link the the Drupal user to the CiviCRM contact. Is there an easier way?
Thanks in advance.

maybe clone that membership page - set it to 'pay later' then log out and use that one for your 'backend' memberships?

hmm, that seems like a good idea. I'll try that. Thanks.
