Activities - Schedule Follow-up - Am I missing something?

We've got CiviCRM 3.1.3 installed and have been using it just fine for months now.

Recently we're starting to try and take advantage of more features and "Activities" seems like a great way to keep track of recent happenings with our members.

Not sure if I'm missing something or if I misunderstand how the "Activities" are supposed to work, but when I pull up a contact record and save an activity, there appears to be a field at the bottom of the form for "Scheduling follow-up" but even though it is click-able, it doesn't do anything. I'm expecting that some sort of additional form would appear letting me add a follow-up to this new activity.

Am I missing something?

Yep - should open up a new fieldset. Seems like some javascript functions aren't working on your site. Check for errors with Firebug when you click the Follow-up pane to open it. You can see what it should do here on public demo (after logging in):

Well, I've just checked out the page in Firebug and I don't get any errors at all on the page, and none when clicking on the "Schedule Follow-up", or the "Attachment" buttons. They just don't do anything at all.

Any other suggestions?

Remember some posts where folks using Rocket theme(s) had a problem w/ the show/hide javascript functions that are used to "expand" these collapsed form sections. Might be related ??

Dave,

We are using a RocketTheme Template and disabling the RokBox system plugin did the trick.

We were only using it for a login lightbox window, but can now go about replacing it with just a basic modal window and have the ability to use "Activities" fully.
