Registering walk-ins
July 28, 2010, 01:23:30 pm
We want to register our walk-in registrants after the fact. Do we have to change the registration close date (re-open registration) in order to register them from the back end (or front end)? And we'd like a different (more complete) profile to pop-up instead of individual (name and email). Is that possible?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Registration end date only affects front-end (self service) registration.

If you're referring to the pop-up form which appears during "back end" event registration - you can add as many fields to that as you want. Go to Administer > Customize > CiviCRM Profile and click Fields link for the Profile whose name is "New Individual". (Same applies to any Profile - you can always add or modify the fields included.)

Yes...I thought about that but I use "Individual" profile in other places as is. Guess I should replace the other places with a new profile since I don't have a choice on this one.

Otherwise...any thoughts on access to registration without re-opening registration?
Thanks so much!

Makes sense for you to set up another profile for spots where all you want is Name and Email. Should be pretty quick.
