Upgrading from 1.9 beta to 1.9 stable

I had installed CiviCRM 1.9.beta.11777 and I'd like to upgrade to 1.9 stable and make sure that I preserve the data.

Have there been changes in the database schema? Is it possible to overwrite the 1.9 stable code over the beta?

From this forum I see that has been the case in the 1.8 version from beta to stable. Hope that's the case in 1.9.

You can overwrite beta code with stable code. However, if you're using CiviMail, there was one late change in the schema. Fix for that is here:
