Do we have to re-open registration in order to enter our walk-in data?   ??? :-[

From the back office as an authorised user, you can at any time add any contact as a participant to any event.
Note that it isn't using the profile and online form you set up, nor does it handle the payment (I think)

If you want your users to self register, you need to have the registration open.

Note that you will run into issues if the same computer needs to be used for different users (or that an authenticated admin wants to use the public event registration form to register a different contact than him/herself).

On the 3.2 version, you get a message "not John doe? register someone else" and you can use the form to register a different user than the authenticated/last registered person.

You can force the form to forget the last registered user by adding a param ( ?cid=0 if I recall properly, that's the link on the sign someone else msg)
