Help Needed for First-time CRM Deployment

My non-profit company, based in NYC, is building a new Drupal site and intend to configure CiviCRM alongside it on the back-end. However, this is our first time using any kind of CRM platform, Civi or otherwise, and we seek guidance and support in setting up CiviCRM to best meet our business objectives.

Our web development team are Drupal pros and good with CiviCRM on the technical side, but have limited experience in advising clients on how to set it up to best meet business requirements.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, especially an in-person consultation in our NYC office.
