Sort order of Search Builder fieds

One of our administrators had this question:

Is there a way to sort these fields in a more user-friendly way?
In the old system (production) this wasn't great, but in the prototype a whole series of less important fields comes before we even reach First name.
There probably isn't an ideal way to sort the fields, but at most the fields should be sorted the same way as in the old system.
Attached is a file with screen shots of the field sorting in prototype and in production.
Any improvement for the prototype is more than welcome

Unfortunately, the pdf is too large to attach.

Our current production is 1.9 and the "prototype" of the upgrade is 3.1.4

How can we get it changed?

Maybe there could be a feature in the UI that would allow people to choose the sort order of the fields.
