CiviContribute form/profile display and IE7

I am having a problem with the display in IE7 on a CiviContribute form, where the profile fields are elongated and the user cannot enter anything.
Joomla 1.5.15
Cicicrm 3.1.1
It works in firefox and ie8, it is specifically ie7 that is the issue.
Any recommendations, perhaps some sort of legacy setting?

Have you tried the form in IE8? and or on the demo site?   If you have not customized the form, then it's probably an IE issue.  I have found a few of these on 3.21 and added them to the issue tracker.  The Civi team is great at fixing these items quickly; often in the next release.

Actually even if you customized the form it's probably an IE issue :)

It is an IE issue. The problem does not occur in IE8 or in Firefox.
Any suggestions on what i can do for the many IE7 users out there? Any work arounds?

The only thing you can do is not use IE7 and then post is a bug in issue tracker.  Good luck
