Whole Mailout not getting sent, despite report saying they are
August 16, 2010, 08:59:34 am
Hi,

I'm using CiviMail to send out approx. 6000 emails

For the past year it worked fine. However the last two mailings had unusually low open rates (about an 80% decline) and people telling me they hadn't received theirs while other people had.

The report shows 100% of emails being sent succesfully and no bounces. The same person hasn't received the last two despite always getting them previously and they're not in his spam either. A check of other people I know shows some are also not getting it and some are.

Any ideas here?

Could it have anything to do with cron settings?

Could it be anything to do with addresses? I imported about 30 addresses wrongly so they all came wrapped in "".

Yours desparately,
Lal

What are the status of the mailings ?

What is your civicrm version (please update your profile on this forum).

In the past, a mailing could stall in the middle on an invalid email indeed, but this has been solved (and don't feel like your problem).

Do you process bounces ? If not, I would guess you server has been blacklisted. Check online if you are
http://www.mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx

Do you have an access to the log of your mail server ? Check if the contacts that haven't receive the mails are in the log, and what is the status.

Hi,

The status is complete. And I'm using 3.1.2 on Drupal 6.

The bounces are something else I wnat to look into as it's not reporting 0 bounces, whcih can't be right.

I'm checking the mxtoolbox now.

I'm looking at the log now. Doesn't mean much to me as I can't see any emails.
I get  :
Command to be executed is:  /usr/bin/curl

Then my details and 60 lines of

  0     0    0     0    0     0      0      0 --:--:--  0:00:01 --:--:--     0

Followed by some ominous html messages:
<title>Unable to Serve This Request</title>
and
Unfortunately there were no suitable nodes available to serve this request.

But I don't see any email addresses at all.

Lal
