SMS any ideas?

So I have read through some old posts on SMS attempts...  Does anyone have any success with it?  I would also love to be able for individuals to text back to "sign in" or say that they are at an event.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I am using joomla and would really really love to have a way to Text message our students.

dont know about joomla components for this, but for drupal we recommend folks take a look at the drupal module smsframework

Hi Zesgar

We wrote a basic component for CiviCRM a long time ago, that we have recently been brushing up to release.

What sort of volumes are you looking at?  Do you need to handle incoming SMS or just send out SMS?

I am working with a college ministry.  Our main focus is marketing to about 500 students through sms.  Incoming sms isn't a huge priority.  Although the idea for them to be able to show that they have attended an  event in civicrm would be amazing.  If we could somehow allow them to sign in by texting us at every worship session that has a civievent that would greatly help us track who we need to follow up with.

I would love to try and help out with anything you are currently working on.
