confirmation email problems

I'm using CiviEvent (CRM 3.2.1) on a Joomla setup (1.5.20) and I'm having fits with the registration confirmation emails.  The site emails work fine (I can send emails from CiviCRM and the test mail works fine...using all three options).  When someone registers for an event or membership I get a registration confirmation email and an invoice notification.  The problem is that the registrant isn't getting their copy of the confirmation email...and neither are the people I've got set up to receive them on the Bcc line.  I'm totally confused by this.  :\

Any pointers would be terrific.

There was a bug for people paying by payment processor - can't remember if the fix is in 3.2.1 or will be in 3.2.2

there are some changes to this with regard to PHP 5.2.x and CiviCRM v3.2.x. These changes will be part of 3.2.2

Well...I'll be...I'm running 5.2.9.  I see that's one of the versions that the bug was identified in.  Any workaround suggestions for my immediate needs?  I look forward to 3.2.2...I'm a big fan of the CiviCRM community. :)

apply the patches you find here (other than the big 190 files merge patch)

if you cant figure out how to do the above, please wait for 3.2.2 (out by mid next week)
